Carrie and Lady A
Carrie and Randy Travis duet from American Idol!!!! This isn’t one of my favorites from the Carnival Ride CD, but it is pretty cool to see her duet with one of her heroes…
I posted a video of Lady A doing “I run to you” in concert in my last post, but I just found the official video at CMT, so I am posting it as well. I love this song and video!!!!

One year ago today- Carrie was invited to join the Grand ole Opry
Wow, where has the year gone!!
It was one year ago today that Randy Travis invited Carrie to become a member of the
Grand Ole Opry! I was lucky enough to be in the audience that night and it was a night that
I along with many others will never forget. Below are a few pictures and videos that I took at the show:

Carrie performing on Idol next week
Carrie is going to be on American Idol next week, as part of their Grand Ole Opry week. She will be performing a duet with Randy Travis. This is definitely some nice exposure for her music, hopefully it will help with her album sales and help get the single into the top 10… The duet will also be released as a digital single which should be great. Randy is such a hero of Carrie’s, i am sure that this will be a special night for Carrie!!!
NASHVILLE – (March 11, 2009) – 2005’s American Idol winner and Grand Ole Opry member, Carrie Underwood, will return to the Idol stage for a performance on Wednesday, March 18. American Idol will feature a Grand Ole Opry theme March 17 & 18, as contestants will select and perform songs popularized by Opry members as part of the show’s ongoing competition to name the next American Idol. American Idol airs on FOX Tuesday, March 17 8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed and Wednesday, March 18 at 9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed.
Underwood will perform her current hit single “I Told You So” with fellow Opry member Randy Travis, who will also be participating as Idol’s “Opry” mentor for the show’s contestants. Carrie’s version of this 1988 #1 classic by Travis can be found on her Carnival Ride album, and fans will soon be hearing another version on the airwaves as a new studio recording pairing Carrie and Randy arrives at country radio next week. A digital single of that recording will be available for sale at online music providers everywhere to coincide with their American Idol performance.

Mandy Moore is Married…
Mandy Moore Quietly Weds Ryan Adams
Wednesday March 11, 2009
Mandy Moore and rocker Ryan Adams have wed, reps for both stars confirm to Usmagazine.com.
They tied the knot Tuesday in Savannah, Georgia, adds the reps.
The secret wedding should come as no surprise.
After confirming her engagement to Adams in February, Moore said she wanted the wedding to be "less ... of a big deal."
"Hopefully, it can happen and slip by unnoticed by everybody," said the singer, 24, who has dated Adams, 34, off-and-on since March 2008. "I guess we have to be sort of sneaky about it, but I'll see what I can accomplish."
She added that she has never been "that kind of girl" who obsesses over her wedding day and added that she hadn't even thought about a dress.
"I kind of feel like, because I've been able to get married in a few films, I kind of got the whole giant wedding fuss out of my system," Moore said.
In April's Marie Claire, Moore calls Adams "a good egg. I'm in awe of him -- his brain, his passion. He's truly one of a kind."

Happy Birthday-Carrie Underwood
So it has been almost 2 weeks since my last blog, to be honest, work has been crazy and I just haven’t had the time or inclination to update. That being said I couldn’t let the day go by without acknowledging Carrie’s Birthday. She turned 26 today!!! Over at her fan club their are a bunch of threads celebrating Carrie’s birthday, unfortunately she hasn’t commented on any of them, but oh well… I figured this should be an all Carrie post, so here are all the top 5 Carrie happenings in the last 2 weeks that I haven’t blogged about.
1. Carrie performed at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday. With Carrie not touring this year, this was one of the few chances to see her perform live, and I did not go… The story behind that is too long and boring… Even though I didn’t go, here are some great pictures and video that I found.
2. At an event in Nashville last week Carrie received a plaque certifying 10 million albums sold in the US. Not bad for only 2 albums in 4 years.
3. Carrie’s album “Carnival Ride” was nominated for best album of the year for the ACM awards!!!!
4. Carrie is the cover girl for this week’s Country Weekly magazine. It is an interesting article and interview…
5. Carrie is part of a new campaign celebrating 20 years of Badgley Michka fashions. Carr joined several big stars like Eva Longoria, Brooke Shields, and Lauren Hutton for the fashion campaign.

A little Football
In the last few days, the fact that the NFL is all about business, was very apparent. The fact that the Colts just released one of the best receivers in history (Marvin Harrison), and now today the Bucs released 5 of the best players in their teams history. I don’t live in Tampa anymore, but I still follow the team and I find it hard to believe that this move is going to help the team. I guess Bucs fans can look forward to 3-4 years of rebuilding!
TAMPA, Fla. -- Derrick Brooks, one of the top players in Tampa Bay history, was cut by the Buccaneers on Wednesday in a purge of the team's older players.
Brooks, the NFL Defensive Player of the Year when Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl after the 2002 season, was among five players cut, four of them older than 32-year-old Raheem Morris, the team's new head coach.
The others were wide receivers Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard, running back Warrick Dunn and linebacker Cato June. The 29-year-old June is the only player under 30 and the only one younger than Morris.
The moves caught Brooks by surprise.
"Right now, like all of you guys, I'm just trying to get a feel for it all, trying to come to grips with it," the 11-time Pro Bowl selection said by telephone. "I don't even know what to think."

Carrie at the Airport
I went back and forth about whether to post these pictures and blog about it, but here it goes. I have always thought it was strange, that people are fascinated by pictures of stars, walking down the street, at a restaurant, or at the airport, but then this morning I found myself checking out the various gossip sites, because they had pictures of Carrie at the LAX airport flying home to Nashville. For whatever reason, Carrie Underwood just fascinates me. It started with her beautiful voice, and then after seeing her in concert and actually meeting her in person, it became more… Each time I have met her, she just seemed so real and down to earth. Now I find myself checking her Fan Club website each day, to get all the latest news and pictures and maybe even a blog from Carrie herself. Just today, Carrie was online at the FC and I found myself just checking out all the different posts that she was checking out. I am currently regretting my decision not to get tickets for Carrie’s Grand Ole Opry show next weekend. Like everyone, I am worried about the economy and my job security, so I am trying to actually put some money into my savings, so I decided against flying to Nashville for the show. I was really counting on the show being aired on GAC, but for whatever reason they are not airing the show. Well enough about my Carrie obsession, I definitely got off the subject there. Anyways, here are the pictures that started this whole, strange post…

4/5 Oscar Picks
So, I was 4 out of 5 with my Oscar picks. My only mistake was thinking that the Academy would think that one Oscar was enough for Sean Penn. I really thought that the comeback of the year would be completed with a win for Mickey Rourke…. Overall, it was an interesting show. They really tried to shake things up with the set design and the way the awards were presented. My favorite acceptance speech of the night was Kate Winslet’s. I was so happy she finally got the Oscar that she has deserved for a while. Other than the awards, the main reason that people watch, including me, is to see the stars. For me the most beautiful star of the evening was Natalie Portman. She doesn’t show up in public much unless she is promoting a movie, so it has been a while since I have seen pictures of her, but last night she was just stunning…
Unfortunately, the rumor about Carrie attending the Oscars was not true…Well kind of not true, she actually attended Elton John’s Viewing Party. Naturally she looked Stunning and very Classy!!!

The Academy Awards, Slideshows, and Carrie
I am not sure what it means that I haven’t seen any of the movies up for best picture at tonight’s Academy Awards, but it can’t be a good thing (lol)! In fact of all the major categories, the only performance that I have seen is Heath Ledgers in Dark Knight. It always is more fun to watch the Oscars when you are rooting for a film or actor/actress, so I have decided to make my predictions even though I haven’t seen any of the movies…
Best Actor- Mickey Rourke
Best Actress- Kate Winslet
Best Supporting Actor- Heath Ledger
Best Supporting Actress- Penelope Cruz
Best Picture- Slumdog Millionaire
In other Oscar news, there were rumors flying around that Carrie might be attending the event and maybe even presenting… This morning I found some pictures of her arriving at the LA airport last night, so maybe she will be attending!!!
I spent a few hours yesterday trying to figure out how to add a slideshow to the blog. After finally figuring it out, when I came back this morning it wasn’t loading, and neither were the videos that I had posted in earlier blogs. I just went on and they appear to be loading now, so check out the slideshow of Carries concert in Denver last March. It was an amazing show! I was even lucky enough to win a Meet and Greet with Carrie before the concert. She is as sweet as she is Talented and Beautiful!!!

Mandy Moore is engaged!
So, I heard over the weekend that Mandy Moore is now engaged to Ryan Adams. I was one of the few people during the hey day of TRL and Britney and Christina, that actually preferred Mandy. I always thought she was so beautiful and talented. She hasn’t been in the news lately and I have no idea where her career is at now, but hearing the news made me think back a few years ago when she was one of my favorites. I’ve actually liked a few of the movies she’s done, my favorite being “A Walk To Remember” .

Carrie at Disney World for AI event
So it has been a very busy last few days in Carrie Underwood news. Tonight she was at Disney World in Florida for the opening of the AI attraction. They had a little parade and Carrie even performed a couple of songs at a private show. Also there are unconfirmed reports that Carrie will be performing at the Oscars. It will be so great if this turns out to be true. Below are some pictures and video from tonight's event. The pictures of Carrie with Mickey are so cute lol…
