Great Grammy Reviews for Carrie

Great reviews for Carrie’s Grammy performance:

Best Best Performance - The New York Observer

With apologies to Radiohead, who performed their song “15 Step” with the USC Marching Band (the first time in history of earth that being in the marching band could be considered cool), no one brought the house down like… Carrie Underwood? Really, we were surprised, too. But Ms. Underwood’s performance of her Best Female Country Vocal-winning “Last Name”, a salacious number about a potential one-night stand that turns into a quickie Vegas wedding, was unbelievable. Showcasing her booming voice and a fantastic stage presence, “Last Name” made us want to reconsider the entire country music genre. If the songs sound like this, then sign us up! (Ms. Underwood was more rocking than Best Rock Album winners Coldplay.) Unfortunately the crowd didn’t give her a standing ovation, something that certainly doesn’t bode well for her Q rating. The only thing Ms. Underwood received was some polite applause from Kenny Chesney and our 99 cents when we purchased her song. But hey, every little bit helps!

Time Grades the Top Grammy Performances - Time Magazine

Underwood delivers a saucy performance to match the sauciest song of her young career — and I like! In the past Underwood has looked a little overwhelmed in big rooms, but this time she seizes control of the crowd and rocks them hard.
Grade: A

Carrie was the Top search for Yahoo on Monday. Even beating out Rihanna and Chris Brown.  I won’t even comment on that situation. It’s jus SAD!!!

Steroids, Grammies, and Lady A

I am beginning to wonder if any of our current sports stars today are free of Performance Enhancing drugs. When I first heard about this story, I was hoping it was false, But here is the video of Alex Rodriquez admitting to taking steroids.  Unbelievable!!!

Now on to some happier news.  I am still pretty psyched about Carrie winning her fourth Grammy last night.  Not only did she look beautiful, but in all her interviews she came across as a humble, classy, and thoughtful young woman. Carrie’s acceptance speech was wonderful.

Her performance was AMAZING as well!!!
Unfortunately, Lady Antebellum didn’t win for Best New Artist, but they got some great news on the talk show “Ellen” today.  Their CD just went gold!!  Check out their performance and Ellen surprising them with the gold record…

Carrie Wins another Grammy

Carrie won her fourth Grammy tonight. She won in the best female country performance for her song “Last Name” It is just amazing how much she has accomplished in 4 short years.

Carrie also gave a rocked out performance of “Last Name” during the televised show.
Carrie looked amazing at the Clive Davis Pre Grammy party on Saturday and on the Grammy red carpet on Sunday.

Carrie and Keith one year ago tonight…

Carrie and Keith Urban sang a duet for the first time a year ago tonight. it was the second show of their tour together and Carrie surprised the audience by coming out during Keith’s set and they performed a cover of Rhianna’s “Umbrella”  It was a great thing to see live.  My video above doesn’t do it justice. Carrie looked amazing as usual!!!

Carrie Concert- 1 year ago today

Carrie isn’t touring this year so I am going to have to spend the year reliving the amazing shows i was lucky enough to attend last year.          A year ago tonight, I was in Connecticut for Carrie’s first concert of 2008.  The show was the first date of her Carnival Ride tour and  I remember everyone wondering what the set list would be?  What the stage would look like?  and if she and Keith Urban would do a duet?  The show was amazing and hearing all of the brand new songs live for the first time was great.  Carrie’s rendition of “I know you won’t” left me in awe!!!  Here are a few pictures from the show, and a short video of Carrie singing “Twisted”

Football, Grammy’s, and The premiere of Lost

How the hell did the Arizona Cardinals end up in the Super Bowl?  I definitely did not see that one coming. The Steelers and the Cardinals is not exactly a dream matchup, but I am sure like 100 million other Americans, I will be watching…

During the Steelers game they had a commercial for the Grammy’s and they announced that Carrie Underwood will be performing.  This will be Carrie’s 3rd year in a row to perform.  I love it!!!  I am sure that the fans of other country artists hate it, but…. To get ready for the big night, here is a video of Carrie’s Grammy performance from last year.

This Wednesday “Lost” is back on the air.  It has been too long, and incredibly I won’t be home to see it.  I have TiVo set to record, so hopefully I’ll be seeing it when I get home.  Now I just have to make sure that no one tells me what happens, before I see it.  There aren’t many shows that I can’t miss but “Lost” is one of them, right now I guess the only other one if “Friday Night Lights” which just started again last Friday. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure it is going to be cancelled after this year.  for some reason, people just don’t get it.  If you haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. Here is a link to a website where you can watch episodes.  http://www.nbc.com/Friday_Night_Lights/
